APPLES & PEARS

Join us for Apple Weekend and discover the delightful array of apples and pears at Kentwell. Our knowledgeable Garden Team will be available to showcase the diverse selection of apple and pear varieties thriving in our gardens. From crisp eating apples to versatile cooking varieties, and even juicing options, our ancient espaliered trees in the Walled Garden are brimming with choices.

With approximately 60 types of apples and a similar number of pear trees, there's something for every palate. Explore our display featuring these fruits, with samples available for tasting. Uncover your favourite among these varieties!

Did you know that despite there being over 6,000 types of English apples, the limited selection in supermarkets often overlooks this rich diversity in favour of imported options? Come learn more about these locally grown treasures during Apple Weekend at Kentwell.

CONKERS

Explore the timeless fun of conkers during our Conker Championship at Kentwell! When horse chestnut trees drop their fruit, the ground becomes adorned with these plentiful conkers, offering endless opportunities for entertainment.

Revive the classic game of conkers, a beloved childhood pastime. Simply pierce a hole through a conker, thread it with a lace or string, and challenge others to a thrilling conker fight. Swing your conker at your opponent's dangling conker, taking turns until a victor emerges. Join us as we host our very own Kentwell Championship!

Beyond the traditional game, conkers serve as a versatile canvas for creativity. Paint intricate designs on their surface or string them together to fashion charming necklaces. Experiment with glue to craft unique shapes and structures. Explore various games that use conkers as counters, igniting joy and camaraderie among participants.

Discover the endless possibilities of conkers at Kentwell – just remember, they may be fun to play with, but they're not for eating!

The ticket price also includes a visit to the House, a walk around our stunning gardens
