24th May 2024 Home Educators’ Day is reserved solely for families who home-educate their children!

Just as we have days for schools and others for the general public. Home Educators can attend on Public Days but it’s far better for children to visit on their own day.

The Festival presents aspects of everyday life from the past. Encounter pockets of different eras brought to life by Kentwell’s skilled living historians, spread throughout the buildings, gardens, farm and woodlands.  They are not just actors but behave, talk and do like living persons from that era. For visitors, especially children, it’s like them meeting figures from the past able to answer any questions about their everyday existence.

This fully-immersive day will create memories and experiences which will stay with children for many a day. They should be enjoying themselves so they don't realise they are learning.

Guardians have the freedom to explore the event - taking their children where they want when they want. They can spend as much or as little time as they choose in any era to focus on selected themes to study.

A visit to the Festival enables the guardian to pick out or emphasise similarities in or differences between eras. This a good basis also for creative writing or reporting.

An active, outdoor day out for explorers of all ages - a breath of fresh air for everyone!

Dressing Up

Children love dressing up. Come dressed in any age costume but no fancy dress.
